The Xavier School Educational and Trust Fund, Inc. (XSETFI) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on May 5, 1966. It was established as the ‘Grant-In-Aid’ program of Xavier School with a mandate of providing scholarship grants to deserving Xavier School students who encounter financial difficulty in having a Xavier education. Its office is located at 64 Xavier St., Greenhills, San Juan City. The organization has one regular staff and one seconded staff but is run and managed by the school’s personnel acting as volunteers. It also has 13 elected members of the Board of Trustees.
It was certified for five (5) years on April 10, 2006 and which ended on April 9, 2011. It was certified for another 5 years on April 7, 2011 and which ended on March 2, 2016.
Its purposes, among others, are “to make Xavier Education available to deserving students who would otherwise not be able to afford it.” The XSETFI’s program focuses solely in providing scholarships to students needing assistance for tuition fees, miscellaneous expenses, books, transportation and even ‘lunch and merienda’. At present its target is to have 25% of the students of Xavier School-NUVALI in Canlubang as grantees.
Its sources of income are mostly donations from Xavier School alumni and even from the school itself as well as from the interests and dividends from various investments.
