The Wong Chu King Foundation, Inc. (WCKFI) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on March 30, 1990 by the heirs of the late Mr. Emmanuel Wongchuking. The family seeks to perpetuate, through the foundation, the memory of their late patriarch, who was a known philanthropist and the owner of Mighty Corporation, Inc. It encourages and promotes education through scholarship and grants to religious institutions. It is a grant-making and family foundation. Its main office is located at 9109 La Campana cor. Trabajo St. Brgy. Olympia, Makati City. The foundation has 1 regular staff, 2 seconded staff, 20 volunteers, and 7 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was first certified for 1 year on August 22, 2007 which ended on August 21, 2008. First Renewal was certified for 3 years on December 24, 2008 which ended on December 23, 2011. Second Renewal was certified for 5 years on December 1, 2011 which ended on November 16, 2016. On its 3rd Renewal, the foundation was evaluated on February 8, 2017.
Its purposes, among others, are: “to be a world-class institution providing effective, continuing and inspiring opportunities toward the enhancement of the welfare and well-being of deserving beneficiaries; and to address the needs of its stakeholders in the areas of culture, spirituality, education, charitable and youth development”. The foundation’s programs focused on Education (scholarship grants) and giving grants to religious and charitable institutions.
