The Vivant Foundation, Inc. was registered with the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on November 6, 2014. It is the official corporate social responsibility arm of the Vivant Group of Companies. The foundation is a grant making organization created to fulfill and assist the company in realizing its philanthropic goals as well as establishing itself as an integral member of the communities where they operate. Its main office is located at Unit 801 Ayala Life-FGU Center, Mindanao Ave., Corner Biliran Road, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City. The foundation has three (3) regular staff, three (3) seconded staff and volunteers from Vivant Corporation. The foundation has seven (7) Board of Trustees, of which two (2) are Independent.
Its purposes (V-M-G), among others, are “to enable the public high schools in their host communities to provide quality education, particularly in the field of Science and Technology; to assist the schools in their transition into K-12 system”. The Foundation now focuses on programs that promote innovations in education that include the following projects:
- Provide various laboratory equipment for STEM strand
- Donate Computer and Science Laboratories
- Provision of solar electrification to off grid public schools
- Training and Workshops for teachers and the host communities
- Brigada Eskwela
- Tree planting
The Foundation was given one-year PCNC certification from August 17, 2017 to August 16, 2018.
The Company operates under the ownership and representation of the Garcia-Escano Family of Cebu. Its
businesses are in electric power generation, electric power distribution and retail electricity supply in the
Philippines that include Visayas Electric Company (VECO). It is a publicly listed company.
