The San Beda College Benedictine Educational Foundation, Inc. (SBCBEFI) was registered with the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on June 17, 2003. It was established by the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Our Lady of Montserrat, Manila with the purpose of helping fund the projects of the educational institutions established by the Benedictine community and other institutions in the areas of scholarships, faculty development, community involvement services, research, physical plant and facilities development, and environmental protection. Its main office is located at San Beda College, 638 Mendiola St., San Miguel, Manila. The foundation has one (1) regular staff, ten (10) volunteers and five (5) members of the Board of Trustees.
The Foundation?s programs/projects now focus on the following areas:
1. Livelihood Program for the marginalized communities
2. Literacy Program for the out-of- school youth and their families in communities where the San Beda schools operate
3. Scholarship Program
4. Assistance for faculty development and research programs
for the San Beda schools
5. Infrastructure Assistance to San Beda College ? development of laboratories and facilities
Geographical scope of programs: Metro Manila, Rizal, Batangas and Malaybalay
This is the third application for PCNC Certification. It received a 1-year certification on January 11, 2005 and was renewed on August 24, 2009.
Its sources of income include donations and interest income. Donations received totaled
to P10.687 M as of November 30, 2010. Its approved budget for the year 2011 is
P11,105,400.00.
