Feed the Children Philippines was started in 1984 to address the needs of disadvantaged Filipino children by providing food, medical services, and school assistance in Navotas, Smokey Mountain and Valenzuela in Luzon. When FTCP was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 1989, FTCP operations had two offices with two country directors, one in the north based in Manila and the other in the South based in Bohol under one Board. In 1996, the International Program Director hired a new Country Director who opened a national office in Cebu and a field office in Cateel, Davao Oriental while maintaining the offices in Bohol and in Manila.
FTCP purchased a 2.8 hectares lot intended to become a demonstration farm for Sustainable Agriculture. When the Country Director took on a new position in 1998 as International Program Officer, a new Country Director was hired to replace him.
FTCPI was established through the support of FEED the Children International where 98% of the funds came from. It was in 2009 when FEED International strengthened their presence and acknowledged FEED the Children Philippines, Inc. as part of their program for international operations
