Philippine Relief and Development Services (PHILRADS), Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit, organization on November 13, 1980 by the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) to engage in ministries that help the poor and the needy become economically self-reliant and rightly related to God. PHILRADS concretizes PCEC’s holistic concept of ministry that addresses the total needs of man, and cultivates active partnerships with local churches in delivering needed services to disaster-stricken families and alleviating the conditions of poor communities anywhere in the country.
PHILRADS focuses on disaster preparedness and response, rehabilitation of victims of typhoons and floods and other calamities, and capability building of its partners. It also works on special projects that are needed in different communities or different sectors like free wheelchairs for PWDs, house repair and medical missions in disaster stricken areas.
PHILRADS has also developed strong alliances with both local and international groups and local churches for resource mobilization and with coops and foundations for project implementation
