The PHAPCares Foundation, Inc. (PFI) is a private non-stock, non-profit organization founded in 2003 by the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Association of the Philippines(PHAP) as its corporate social responsibility. Its primary purpose is to assist in the amelioration of the living condition of the poor by making quality essential medicines accessible to them, thru partnership with the government & other organizations in implementing an effective and sustainable medicine access initiatives, health information, and humanitarian missions in geographic areas affected by conflicts, health outbreaks and calamities. Its main office is located at unit 502 One Corporate Plaza, 845 Arnaiz Avenue, Makati City. The Foundation has a regular staff of 3 and 10 members of the Board of Trustees.
Its flagship programs – “Medicines for Indigent”, Disaster Response, and Universal Health Care are implemented in partnership with the Department of Health, Local Government Units and other Corporate Foundations and NGOs . Individualized medical assistance are also extended to walk- in patients particularly those diagnosed with debilitating diseases and victims of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
It was issued a 1-year certification as a donee institution on August 4, 2004 and which ended on August 3, 2005. It was certified for 3 years on February 15, 2006 and which expired on February 14, 2009. On March 23, 2009 it was granted a 5-year certification y PCNC and which ended on March 22, 2014.
