Its work started in 2006 with employee volunteers doing yearly outreach activities for kids with cancer, including sponsorships for coastal clean-ups and educational scholarships. In 2009, Metro Pacific Investments wanted to create a holistically beneficial impact among its businesses, its employees, its stakeholders, and the environment, going beyond the interests of its firms by embracing responsibility for its companies’ actions and mindfully integrating CSR into its business model. Metro Pacific Investment Foundation was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 21, 2009.
MPI Foundation’s (MPIF) strategic programs have evolved throughout its thirteen years of existence, now geared towards four fronts of Social Infrastructure: 1) Education, 2) Environment, 3) Economic Empowerment, and 4) Calamity Response & Relief Operations. In line with Metro Pacific Investments Corporation’s (MPIC) commitment to nation-building and its pledge to improve the lives of the Filipino people, MPIF seeks to be the heart of MPIC’s efforts in infrastructure development by empowering and uplifting the most vulnerable sectors.
MPIF is committed to implementing its programs to benefit both communities, organizations, families, and individuals in areas which MPIC portfolio companies operate, as well as areas outside its immediate business interests. As MPIC continues to progress and expand, MPIF will likewise resume its involvement in transformative legacy projects and contribution towards institutionalizing impactful, sustainable programs.
