Philmadz Singers Music, Inc. (PSMI) is the legal entity or the SEC registered organization of the Philippine Madrigal Singers. The Choir is a resident company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the first two-time winner and the only Filipino choir champion of the European Grand Prix for choral Singing (1997 & 2007).
The Philippine Madrigal Singers was organized in 1963 by National Artist Professor Andrea O. Veneracion. The choir is one of the world’s most awarded, having consistently won all the top prizes in most of the world’s prestigious choral competitions.
For its work in promoting Philippine arts and culture and peace through music, the Madz has been designated as UNESCO ARTISTS FOR PEACE in 2009 and was awarded the Brand Laureate Premiere Award in 2012.
On August 27, 2016, the Philippine Madrigal Singers won the Grand Prix at the 64th International Choral Competition in Arezzo, Italy.
PSMI plans to build a choral center or institute for talented choirs, singers, choir conductors and other musicians with a passion for choral singing in the country. This will be called The Madz CAMP: Philippine Madrigal Singers Choral Art and Music Performance Center. The Center will provide a sanctuary and a laboratory to choristers and other musicians, a venue for learning and music making and a repository of Philippine choral history and literature.
